Paris Hilton has a heart of gold. On a recent promotional trip to India, the heiress, touched by how poor some people on the streets were, handed out serious cash to them – while promising to get involved in charity organizations as well.

While not much has been heard of Paris’ music career as of late, fans know that she’s still keeping very busy with her fashion and accessories lines.

The trip to India, in fact, served this very purpose: to promote her latest handbag collection.

Nevertheless, she still made the time to help out those in need, TMZ informs, citing Paris’ Twitter feed as well.

As she was leaving the promo event, Paris’ attention was attracted by a woman with a child, begging for money.

The socialite leaned out the window and handed her a crisp $100 bill (approximately 77 Euros), as photos available online confirm. She didn’t stop here with the good deeds, either.

“Paris Hilton made a beggar’s life in Mumbai – stopping her SUV to hand a $100 bill to a poor woman who was carrying a baby... and then dropping more than $2,000 (1,473 Euros) in cash on other poor people in the area,” the e-zine writes.

The woman was so shocked about what had just happened to her that she instantly turned to the crowd that had gathered to ask them if they had change for the bill, the same media outlet informs.

“After the $100 incident, Paris was so emotional about the poverty situation in India, she decided to give away all of the cash she was carrying on her at the time to other poor people in the area... more than $2,000 in total,” TMZ writes.

As she left India, Paris took to her Twitter to speak of the experience she had there, including seeing how poor some people were – and promising to do more to help in the future than just hand out cash.

“India is beautiful, but some parts are very poverty stricken. Broke my heart to see babies sleeping on the streets,” she tweeted.

She then asked her followers for suggestions of charities she could get involved in because, as she put it, “After seeing what I’ve seen, I want to help make a difference.”
