According to late reports, Paris Hilton broke up her engagement to boyfriend, Greek heir Paris Latsis, after only five moths.
US Weekly published on their website on Friday an article which claims that Paris will not get married after all, because of the groom's family. According to the media information, Latsis's relatives were unaware of the engagement.
"I'm sad to announce that I've called off my engagement. Over the last couple of months I've realized that this is the right decision for me. We remain best of friends, and I'll always love him. I hope people will respect my privacy during this emotional time," Hilton told the magazine.
On May 29, 2005 it was announced that Hilton, 24 will marry her boyfriend, Paris Latsis, 22, son of Gregory Kasidokostas and Mariana Latsis, a Greek shipping heir, after eight months of dating.
"I'm so in love and grateful to have found such an honest and loyal person," she told Us Weekly at the time. "I feel like we were meant to be, and I'm happy to have found someone to spend the rest of my life with. He's amazing in every way."
Latsis will be the eventually the heir of his mother's family's reputed $7.5 billion dollars fortune.
