Valerie Harper and Leah Remini weren’t the only celebrities making members of the audience tear up with their impressive stories and superb routines on the season 17 premiere of Dancing With the Stars last night.

Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, also had a fair share of that.

Above is his Foxtrot with Cheryl Burke, his pro partner.

Jack was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012 and, save for time off to recuperate after several health complications, he’s been doing his best to raise awareness on the condition.

His decision to do DWTS was also prompted by this desire to shine more light on MS.

“Right now I’m physically able to do DWTS but it might not always be this way so I don’t want to miss this opportunity,” he says of why he agreed to be on ABC’s dancing competition.

Jack and Cheryl got a 23 score for their first dance but, as the video can confirm, they also got warm applause and the tears and cheers of many, his mother included.
