A couple living in Connecticut have had their own daughters arrested for hosting parties in their absence.

The teenage girls were serving alcohol to underage students, mostly friends and classmates. They are 15 and 16 years old and they attend Glastonbury High School.

They held three parties on October 11 and 12, and they were planning on hosting a third one on Sunday. Unfortunately for them, their parents returned early and called the police.

"The parents were supposed to come home on Monday, but they decided to come home on Sunday evening instead. [...] The parents interrupted a party of about 15 to 20 kids, and the kids started leaving," Glastonbury Police Agent Jim Kennedy states, as relayed by ABC News.

The Hartford Courant describes 15 to 20 people attending the parties, all underage. Most ran out when the parents arrived.

"The girls hosted parties at the Neipsic Road house on Oct. 11 and 12," Kennedy said, attended by 15 to 20 people each night. Their parents were due to return on Monday, and the girls "tried to get another one going" on Sunday night.

"Many youths ran from the house. Others were inside," Kennedy said.

The parents, whose names have not been disclosed, explained that calling the police was "the right thing to do."

The teens appeared in court in Glastonbury this Tuesday, but the results of the hearing were not made public.

They have been charged with permitting a minor to possess alcohol, as well as drinking under the legal age themselves.

The measure taken by the parents seems to be a little extreme. They could have opted to discipline the girls at home, but now the teens will have an arrest on their record. Leave us your opinion in the comments section.
