Pretty much everybody loves and adores Nutella. Heck, some might even be tempted to think that cults whose sole agenda is to forever worship this divine treat are now operating all across the world.

Still, hearing that some parents in France actually tried to name their baby daughters “Nutella” can come as a wee of a shock. Luckily, a judge was there to keep them from making this mistake.

The entire conundrum began when the couples reported at civil authorities in Valenciennes to have their baby girls registered and proudly announced that they wanted to name them after the chocolaty treat.

Authorities simply denied their request and so the couples turned to a judge for help. The thing is that, unfortunately, things did no go their way. On the contrary, the judge ruled in favor of the authorities who had so easily dismissed them.

According to Mirror, the French couples were banned from naming their baby daughters “Nutella” on the grounds that, were the girls to be given this moniker, they would have surely been teased their entire life by friends and even other family members.

Eventually, the parents settled on having Ellas instead of Nutellas in the house. One can only assume that, in the privacy of their homes, the girls will still be called by the name that their parents first agreed on.
