The company behind one of the most powerful virtualization software applications for Mac, Parallels, is proudly announcing the (limited) availability of an E-fficient / Green application bundle, packing nine must-have Mac apps for just 50 bucks. The company's flagship product, Parallels Desktop, is obviously included.

And, if you're not thinking efficiency, maybe you're thinking green. Either way, regular Mac users should consider at least looking into the bundle. “We're calling the package the Parallels Green Computing Bundle since greater efficiency in the way we use our electronic gadgetry can help us all save the planet,” says Parallels on its Consumer Tech Blog. “Cue images of lone polar bears etc. Oh OK, it's also cheaper,” the company adds.

For just $50, the bundle offers nine applications, which, if bought separately, would have you forking out around $300. This means you're saving a whopping $250 by purchasing the Parallels Green Computing Bundle, as well as the planet, by reducing your carbon footprint, as a user of more than just one computer. According to Parallels, “the focus is really on convenience: time, cost and energy savings.”

The nine applications included in the Parallels Green Computing Bundle are Parallels Desktop for Mac (of course), MacScan, Password Wallet, MacExplorer, Macaroni, Drive-in, PageSender, Default Folder and docXConverter.

“One of the things people have always looked to technology for is greater efficiency,” the Parallels Consumer Blog reads on. “At Parallels, we seem to talk about this topic a lot as virtualization offers far greater utilization from hardware, which is indeed much more efficient. [...] Some of my colleagues caught hold of this idea and we thought maybe people would be interested in a bundle of efficiency-oriented applications.”

If you are, your next stop should be Parallels' “green” page here. More details on the apps' capabilities, as well as the terms and conditions are also available there. If you're already sold on the offerings, two big, red “Buy Now” buttons will be staring you in the face as soon you access the Parallels Green Computing Bundle page. The offer runs until September 30.
