Parallels is an expert in virtualization and automation software and the developer of Parallels Desktop, the powerful virtualization solution for Mac OS X users. The company is now proud to announce a new product aimed at those depending on Windows, but wanting to enjoy the benefits of Macintosh computing – Parallels Desktop Switch to Mac Edition.

The new product is described as a complete solution designed to simplify the process of switching from a PC to Mac by empowering users to effortlessly make the move without the risk of losing important data and apps on their PCs.

"The growth in switching is partially due to the ease-of-use and cool capabilities of the Mac," Serguei Beloussov, CEO of Parallels, said. "However, users don’t want to lose the data they have accumulated and the applications they are already familiar with. Building on our proven track record of Mac innovation, we have addressed this concern and made learning the new operating system even simpler through interactive on-demand tutorials. These are combined with intelligent moving tools and our industry-leading Parallels Desktop for Mac, which offers the greatest performance and stability for running Windows seamlessly on Mac."

Citing analyst reports on operating system market share, the company also claims that switching from PC to Mac is on the rise. These reports allegedly show that Mac OS X market growth comes at the expense of Windows’ market share. Moreover, Apple sales have risen up 4% year over year, while the overall PC industry saw declines of 3% for the quarter ending in June 2009. Also, half of the Macs sold in Q3 2009 went to customers who had never owned a Mac before.

Interested parties can acquire the Parallels Desktop 4.0 Switch to Mac Edition from Apple (online and retail stores), as well as through Parallel’s retail partners for the price of $99.99. The piece of software is supported in English, German and French. Visit Parallels here to learn more about the Parallels Desktop Switch-to-Mac Edition.
