A platform-specific update that may well be skipped by most users

Parallels Inc. has released a minor update for users of its virtualization solution on Macintosh computers, adding support for the millions of pixels found on Apple’s new MacBook Pro with Retina display.

Parallels Desktop 7.0.15098.770637 is a relatively insignificant update for most users. In fact, the changelog says nothing of any fixes, tweaks, or enhancements, other than “Retina display support.”

Since there’s only one laptop computer out there that has a Retina display, and since many of them haven’t even shipped yet, it’s probably not even worth bothering your head with. However, for those select few who do own the machine and live in a dual-OS environment, this release becomes a must-have.

Needless to point out, this new release incorporates all the good stuff included in Parallels Desktop 7 and its subsequent incremental updates.
