Fredrick Wester, the chief executive officer of Paradox Interactive, says that the newly revealed Cities: Skylines title will target a hardcore city building PC-based audience and that the simulation aspect of the game will be the most important element of the experience.

He tells DigitalSpy that “City building is a PC type genre, and we want to be there. If you take a game like SimCity, it's a great game, I played it, I enjoyed it. They're going towards a more mainstream audience now, and we're going totally hardcore. It's not even a competitor, I think, because we're so deep into the nitty-gritty details.”

The CEO says that the title will benefit from the same amount of attention to details that’s at the moment linked to Crusader Kings II and Hearts of Iron IV.

Cities: Skylines is designed to allow players to take control of all the aspects linked to city development, from the delimitation of housing zones to transport, in order to create an urban space that’s both functional and pleasing to live in.

The game is created by Colossal Order and gamers will be able to enjoy solid mechanics and good-looking graphics, while the development team also promises a lot of options for mods.
