The team at Paradox Interactive working on upcoming titles like Magicka 2, Runemaster and Hollowpoint might be getting ready to bring them to the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony, but it seems that the company is equally interested in working on the rival Xbox One from Microsoft.

Digital Spy quotes the chief executive officer, Fredrick Wester, as saying that the only reason for the current focus on just one platform is that Sony moved faster when it comes to concluding business deals.

At the same time, Paradox aims to work on just one major device at once in order to make sure that the quality of the gaming experiences it creates is solid.

The CEO states, “I'd love to be on Xbox One as well. Take a game like Magicka 2, it belongs on both the consoles - it maybe even belongs on the Wii U, I don't know. We'll see. Magicka has a huge following out there, so we're doing our best to meet the gamers wherever they want to play the game, because that's the decisive factor after all. Most of our gamers are PC gamers, but a lot of the people also play on console.”

Apparently, Sony first contacted Paradox Interactive about bringing a number of video games to the PlayStation 3, but the companies could not reach a full agreement.

The company also has a solid relationship with Steam, and that means it can focus on the development and the publishing side of the business.

Wester adds, “The PS4, they totally changed their mind about how to approach developers and publishers. They're not only taking on the triple-A ones, but also guys like us, who are more in the middle segment with different niches, but niches big enough to be interesting from a financial standpoint for Sony.”

The PlayStation 4 has been getting a number of high-profile indie releases in the last few months, and Sony says that it is aiming to work with third parties in order to make sure that there are no periods when no interesting titles are out.

The big coming release from Paradox is Runemaster, a game that mixes tactical battles and role playing and uses a Norse setting, allowing players to join either Loki or Thor and then implement their version for the end of the world.

Neither of the PlayStation 4 titles currently have official launch dates for the Sony platform.
