Digitech Systems has announced yesterday that they have optimized PaperVision Capture for use with Microsoft SharePoint.

The company is the main provider of capture technology for most high-volume scanning centers worldwide, and now their software can also convert paper documents into electronic files and manage them in SharePoint.

PaperVision Capture scans the documents on paper, converts them in an electronic format, indexes them for a secure storage and manages and retrieves them with Microsoft's SharePoint.

The software can also export the scanned data to many other Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems like Digitech Systems’ PaperVision Enterprise software or the SaaS ECM service, ImageSilo, BusinessWire reports.

Rai Wasner, Managing Director at Kollabria, a leading ECM analyst firm, says that “historically, integrating paper documents with a SharePoint system has been difficult.”

Now, PaperVision Capture is the first well-established scanning technology that makes Microsoft SharePoint paper documents integration easy.

“It’s a must for any organization looking to fully leverage ECM across all critical business information,” he adds.

Most businesses adopt the electronic format information management and many of them do not understand how to raise the effectiveness of these processes, like AP/AR and human resources, for example, that are still widely paper-based.

This is where PaperVision Capture saves the day by converting paper documents into electronic files that can be managed and secured within the SharePoint system.

Once the documents are uploaded, they are available to all of the sites and communities served by the SharePoint implementation.

“Traditionally, liberating critical information from paper documents has been a challenge,” said HK Bain, Chief Executive Officer of Digitech Systems.

“PaperVision Capture converts paper information to a digital format that can be loaded directly to an organization’s SharePoint implementation.

“It improves paper information management exponentially, thereby expanding control of sensitive data and speeding up processes throughout the business.

We intend to be the King Daddy of data capture for SharePoint installations.”

As paper usage increases every year by around 20% according to experts, it's about time that people pass to managing information electronically.
