Comedian Russell Brand lost his temper and flipped on the paparazzi at LAX the other day. One photographer made a citizen’s arrest and Brand was taken into police custody.

Brand, who is engaged (and probably already married, if one is to believe ongoing media speculation) to Katy Perry, was with her at the airport when a scuffle broke.

Until just recently, when Katy took to her Twitter to have her side of the events out there, no one seemed to know what prompted such a violent reaction from Brand.

According to TMZ, Brand lashed out at photographers, shoving them without saying a word. One pap put him on citizen’s arrest and waited until police arrived on the scene.

“Brand and Katy Perry were going through Delta security when he allegedly began pushing and striking paparazzi. We’re told a photog – one of the alleged victims – made the citizen’s arrest and LAX cops facilitated it,” TMZ reports.

“Cops interviewed Brand, then took him into custody. Cops say he’s being booked for battery,” the same media outlet writes.

After he was taken to the police station and booked, Brand posted a $20,000 bail and left. Shortly after, Katy tweeted about her fiancé’s reaction.

“If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me,” the singer wrote on her Twitter.

TMZ has two different videos of the incident, shot from different angles by two different guys, but in none of them can the alleged upskirt be seen.

While Russell remains mum on the topic, Adam Lambert, who got into some paparazzo trouble himself just recently, tweets in support of the British comedian, saying photographers can be quite pesky at times.

“@katyperry @rustyrockets some of dem paps are SCUM! Stand your ground. :)” the glamour rocker says.

As we informed you just hours ago, the paparazzo whom Adam reportedly “attacked” and tried to take his camera in a bid to make him go away has filed a battery report with the police.

However, the only crime Adam will admit he’s guilty of is “embarrassment.”
