One of the main EverQuest designers, Brad McQuaid, has recently announced that he is working on a new MMORPG, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen.

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen will be a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game with a heavy focus on character development, with reactive combat driven by strategy and timing and set in an immersive world that will require players to cooperate in order to endure.

The Rise of the Fallen Kickstarter campaign soon took off, and a developer update from Visionary Realms has recently revealed the game's first playable class, the Cleric.

According to the Kickstarter Cleric update, in the world of Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, Clerics are battle-ready priests devoted to spreading the divine influence in their travels across Terminus.

They are armed with abilities of divine might and will perform benevolent deeds on those in need, keeping their allies away from the clutches of death.

While the Cleric is mainly a healer, he is clad in heavy plate armor and can go toe-to-toe against any enemy. More spiritually-inclined Clerics take on a more magical approach to both offense and defense, wearing radiant robes and scepters, with a tome in the off-hand.

The lack of heavy, cumbersome armor makes them more agile, being able to better dodge and channel their link with the divine energies.

In rare occasions, deserving clerics have been able to manifest their divine purpose by creating astral Paladins from the energy of their faith.

They are a versatile class, being able to deal with many situations, from smiting to healing to reviving fallen comrades or cleansing the undead.

Although many lawful deities from different planes reside in Terminus, and different heroes are bound to their respective spirits, they all work together toward the common law to enforce and protect order and law.
