Pantel Technologies has partnered up with Indian state-owned telecom operator BSNL to push out a series of affordable mobile devices for the budget consumer.

The line-up includes smartphones and a refreshed tablet, which has been dubbed the Penta T-Pad WS707C, NDTV reports.

The slate features a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The company has slipped a lower-end 1.2GHz A7 dual-core chipset coupled with just 512MB of RAM. As for internal storage, customers only get 4GB.

The Penta T-Pad comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and the manufacturing company offers a list of pre-installed apps to go with the bundle, so buyers can enjoy stuff like Spul, Flipboard, Facebook, Skype, Daydream, Documents-to-Go or Aldiko e-book reader.

Those purchasing the device will also be awarded 3GB of BSNL data plus 300 minutes of free talk time, because the Penta T-Pad supports voice calling. The tablet ships for Rs. 6,999 / $112 / €82.
