South Korean mobile phone maker Pantech is reportedly getting ready for the launch of a new handset in the Vega lineup next month, and might pack it with a 5-inch touchscreen display.

Furthermore, the device is expected to land on shelves with a fingerprint scanner on the back, ETNews reports. More and more high-end devices from handset vendors out there feature this at the moment.

The company has already released a smartphone with this functionality packed inside, namely the Vega Secret Note, and it seems that it plans on adding it to more phones in its range.

The rest of the hardware specifications of this mobile phone are not known at the moment, but we might be looking at a phone with a full HD screen.

As TalkAndroid notes, Pantech might have the smartphone launched in December, yet it remains to be seen when exactly it will hit shelves, so stay tuned.
