It is very likely that whether you are looking for a mobile phone with either an impressive design or impressive features, you will find it in Japan.

Time and time again, Japanese KDDI au network customers have been presented with some of the best looking mobile phones available anywhere in the world. Some leaked photos of a new cell phone by Pantech, Korea's largest mobile phone manufacturer after Samsung and LG, are now available.

And just as expected, the yet unannounced W41PT for the au KDDI EV-DO Rev. A network looks absolutely great. Although there's not a lot of information about the phone's features, it will apparently offer a 2.4 inch display with 240 x 320 (QVGA) resolution, a 2.1 megapixel camera, one-seg tuner, support for au's mobile music service LISMO and a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion. The phone comes in a pretty slim case, measuring 103 X 48 X 11.9.

While the phone weighs 123 grams, it's not the lightest phone out there, but should not be very inconvenient when carried. Also, a slightly heavier mobile phone is a pretty small compromise and the design and feature set of the phones is significantly more important.

The hopefully soon to be announced Pantech W41PT comes in white or gold and also features a keypad that reportedly offers no tactile feedback. As usual, all we can do is wait for more information regarding this good-looking mobile phone and while the only thing obvious is that this phone is Japan-only, a release date and any other info remain unknown so far.
