14 DAY TRIAL // The Korean handset manufacturer Pantech has unveiled its new dual SIM mobile phones available in Italy. Pantech P1000 and P4000 showed up on Pantech Italy website, but it is unclear if customers can order any of the two. Still, if you're Italian and consider yourself lucky you can register on the website to win a Pantech P1000 until the end of September. Both devices seem to be mid-entry level and won't cost a fortune. The Korean manufacturer is giving six P1000 units to the winners of the competition, which will end on 30th September.
It seems that Pantech wants to attract lots of customers with this promotion campaign for the dual SIM handsets, even though they're not carrying any fancy platform like Android. P1000 and P4000 seem to be the first dual SIM handsets launched by the Korean manufacturer. This is probably the main reason these phones will be advertised in the future in other European countries too.
The Pantech P1000 is a standard bar phone with an unusual shape, but that will not stand out from the crowd. It features a 1.8-inch display (128x160 pixels resolution), dual-band GSM/EDGE (900/1800MHz) network compatibility, 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, microSD memory slot (up to 8GB) and a 1.3-megapixel camera. The handset measures 97x52x14,9mm and weighs around 75g (including battery).
The Pantech P4000 seems to be ranked a little bit higher, as it includes: a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display (240x400 pixels resolution), quad-band GSM/EDGE network compatibility, FM radio with RDS support, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, 3.2-megapixel camera, 30 MB internal memory, microSD memory slot (up to 16GB), and a 1000 mAh battery (talk time: up to 4.5 hours).
There are no additional information about their official launch or price, but they should be available on the Italian market by the end of August. Other European countries will probably get these dual SIM phone under different names.
