With a $9.99 promotional price on contract

Today, AT&T and Pantech Wireless, Inc. announced the launch of a new mobile phone, the Pantech Link. The new handset will become available for purchase from the wireless carrier on April 18, featuring a promotional price tag of $9.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement. According to AT&T, the new device should easily prove a great option for users looking for an affordable quick messaging phone.

The Pantech Link comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and an ultra thin form factor (under 10 mm), while including a wide range of AT&T services, such as AT&T Social Net and the new AT&T Mobile Share. The quick messaging phones segment is one of the fast-growing categories of the market, and the new Link fit perfectly in this area, as it can keep users connected at all times with their social lives.

“The energy at Pantech is high,” said Dave Ronis, Pantech’s newly appointed CMO. “We really enjoy working with AT&T customers to make sure that all of our handsets meet their ever-expanding needs. Link is one of the slimmest phones on the market, not to mention packed with all of the social media and picture and video-sharing features our messaging phone users want.”

The features list of the new handset shows support for 3G connectivity and great music capabilities, in addition to the enhanced messaging functionality, which includes text, multimedia messaging, email and instant messaging. The phone boasts AT&T Address Book for easy management of contacts, along with AT&T Mobile Shar, for fast viewing and uploading of images on social networking sites.

AT&T Social Net can be used to quickly view and update online profiles with one hub. AT&T Mobile Share makes it easy to store, view, and share pictures and video. Whenever on the move, running errands or hanging with friends, AT&T Navigator is there to guide you with turn-by-turn directions,” the carrier notes.

AT&T Link will come to AT&T's stores and to the carrier's website on April 18. Those interested in the device would have to choose a voice plan and a minimum $20 per month messaging or messaging and data plan to purchase it.
