Ideas are always welcomed when they are fresh, original and mostly free. So, many moguls of the mobile communication industry have thought about searching them in universities that are known for their exceptional technical courses.

More and more companies are experimenting collaborations with design schools, where companies can and get fresh ideas that can even save billion $ companies from financial debts. The students are also thrilled to offer their ideas as they have the opportunity to gain much more experience from successful companies' management, many of them get internships and eventually get to work for the company.

Pantech, the Korean phone manufacturer has reported another attempt to save the company from bankruptcy after almost 3 year of serious failure in mobile design technology.

A short collaboration period that the Korean phone manufacturers have experienced with students at the California College of the Arts, resulted in a series of interesting prototypes and new ways of thinking about the new mobile communication technology.

After the company announced its actual financial status, the Chief Executive Officer and Co-PresidentSung-Kyu Lee resigned even though the creditors offered the company a $613 million rescue package to save it from bankruptcy.

The design group manager Seung Soo Yi is convinced that the collaboration was a tremendous success that will change the company's market profile. "This type of cross-cultural cooperation is a new source of ideas and creative inspiration." He even promised that some of the ideas are going to be applied in a future Pantech designed mobile phone.
