This is Pantech's second attempt with this kind of device, Pantech Duo 2 representing Pantech Duo's successor. Even though the first model was very well known, it wasn't really that appreciated by clients so, this time, Pantech hopes to solve that problem, given the fact that this new version has suffered some improvements, though there will be some to call them just simple modifications.

In any case, text message maniacs will probably appreciate Pantech's new device, especially considering that it comes with a dual-sliding hybrid keyboard-keypad, which can only bring fast and pleasant QWERTY typing experiences. Moreover, the sleeker, a bit flashier and also cleaner design can leave even the most pretentious or extravagant of us highly impressed.

The dual-band GSM/EDGE/WCDMA phone now comes with more “qualified” capabilities, only the most relevant ones being reminded here. Its 2 Megapixel camera and video recording capabilities make the C820 a bit more appealing, should you consider other usage for it outside its messaging capabilities. 3G connectivity, Bluetooth support and the Windows Mobile 6.1 OS also come to meet other needs that users may have, while the microSD card slot will most probably prove most useful.

Sadly, Pantech’s manufacturer did not come to believe that the device required a GPS receiver or Wi-Fi capabilities, so such features still “elude” it. Even though some desired featured may not be available for this device, you must keep in mind that this is mostly a messaging destined phone, and should consider it for what it has been designed.

The Duo 2 is expected to land at AT&T, mostly because the previous model also went there. Although no pricing or availability information is available at this point in time, since it has been seen at the FCC, you probably won't have to wait long for it to be released.
