Today, mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless announced that a new LTE-enabled smartphone will become available for purchase on its airwaves before the end of this week, none other than the recently leaked Pantech Breakout.

The new mobile phone is expected to hit the shelves at Verizon no later than September 22nd, and will feature a price tag of $99.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

The handset will be put up for sale via all Verizon Wireless Communications Stores around the country, as well as online on the wireless carrier's website.

“The Pantech Breakout smartphone, brought to market by Personal Communications Devices, LLC (PCD), shines with super-fast downloads packaged in a slim and attractive design,” the wireless carrier notes.

“Customers will have access to custom Pantech widgets and can share media files between Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-enabled devices by using the Net Media app on their Pantech Breakout.”

The new Pantech Breakout arrives on the market with a 4-inch capacitive touch display (480 x 800 pixels) and packs a fast 1 GHz application processor, while running under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The handset also sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video capture up to 720p, along with a front camera to enable video calling.

The new mobile phone arrives on shelves with support for Verizon's 4G LTE network, being capable of delivering download speeds of up to 5 to 12 Mbps, along with upload speeds of up to 2 to 5 Mbps in areas where 4G coverage is available.

Pantech Breakout's features list also shows Wi-Fi connectivity 802.11 b/g/n, along with Bluetooth capabilities, and 4G LTE mobile hotspot through which users can share an available connection with a number of up to 10 Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

The mobile phone features a microSD memory card slot so that users can expand the available storage space (an 8GB card included in the package), as well as support for a wide range of Google Mobile Services, such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Search and Google Maps.
