Mobile phones that come with basic features and are simple to use are getting more common as each day passes by. Apparently,
while some users out there aren't satisfied with some of today's high-end mobile phones because of their need for better and smarter mobiles, some would rather keep it simple and get a more basic phone, like the Pantech a100.
Pantech a100, a candybar with a rocker-style joystick is currently on the list to be
FCC approved, and should get the approval any time now.
Everything about this phone is very basic, including the brick-like design and the fact that it only comes in black. Although the mobile phone's 128 x 128 pixel 65k color display would seem bigger at first, with the Pantech logo appearing to be part of it, at a more closer look it will turn out to be smaller than you'd expect it to be.
The mobile phone does feature a VGA camera with self-timer and video capture for your basic photo and video capturing needs, WAP browser, Infrared, Java games and tri-band GSM/GPRS capabilities. Other than that, it can be used for calling and receiving calls, which should be perfect for people who are looking for a basic mobile phone.
As you would expect, Pantech a100 will also most likely be very affordable, targeting those who aren't interested in spending a lot on a cell phone.
After its FCC approval, the a100 will head on to the U.S., although there's no information regarding which mobile operator will be offering it or for what price.
