Acer America Corporation announced the launch of a new series of high end LCD computer monitors which are aimed at both home users and professional computer users. The new P series of Acer made LCD screens is shipped under the emblem of a stylish and high quality product that aims to present precise and top of the line images, being the ideal tool for viewing multimedia content, gaming and creating video content.

The new Acer P series comes with LCD computer monitors in several standard widescreen sizes like 19, 20, 22 and 24 inches and they offer an increased desktop surface area, making it simpler for users to manage multiple applications. All the monitors from the new P series of products are encased in glossy and piano black casings with curved edges which are supported by large silvery bases that allow for a good equilibrium. All monitors come outfitted with either HDMI or DVI interfaces in order to be able to interact with even the newest video players or computer graphics cards and maximize the connection quality while delivering a first rate video and audio experience.

The 19 inch LCD widescreen series from Acer supports a native resolution of 1440x900, a 300cd/m2 brightness level and a high 2000:1 contrast ratio. These advanced features are coupled with a fast 5ms response time and wide viewing angles of 160 x 160 degrees. The 20 inch new Acer LCD comes with a higher native resolution that its 19 inch counterpart as it is capable of perfectly displaying 1680x1050 images while using a typical brightness level of 300cd/m2 and a high 2500:1 contrast ratio. It too comes with wide viewing angles that allows users to look upon the screen from different positions.

The 22 inches widescreen codenamed P221Wd is very similar to the 20 inch monitor which is named P201Wd, with the notable exception of a wider horizontal viewing angle of 170 degrees. The largest of all the new Acer monitors, the 24 inch widescreen P241Wd, has a native resolution of 1920x1200 and a superior 400cd/m2 brightness level as well as an increased 3000:1 contrast ratio and thanks to its very fast response time of only 2ms it is perfectly suited for digital content creation.

''The P Series displays reflect Acer's ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of consumers,'' said Chris White, director of peripherals product marketing for Acer America. ''From the stylish, glossy piano black finish to the distinctive, flowing edges of the industrial design, the P Series displays coupled with the latest interface technologies - HDMI and DVI - provide users with the highest quality performance for their computing needs.''
