A new development version of the Pango software, the core font and text handling library in the GNOME desktop environment, has been released for testing this week, which is part of the GNOME 3.8 Beta 2 release.

Pango 1.33.8 fixes two make check issues using the pango_cairo_win32_font_map_get_type and pango_font_map_change functions, GTK+ crashes on non-BMP UTF-8 charpoints.

Moreover, it adds the pango_font_map_changed option and changes FontMap in the pango_fc_font_map_clear_cache function and repairs the Pango layout, which should now be properly rendered with non-identity transformation.

Pango 1.33.8 also fixes a build issue related to introspection of pangoxft and pangoxft. More details can be found in the raw changelog.
