Two panda bears living at Changsa Zoo in China's Hunan province recently had an air conditioning unit installed in their enclosure.

Apparently, Ya Yun and Exri had difficulties adjusting to the scorching temperatures recorded in this part of China over the past few days, and zoo keepers agreed that they needed some help keeping cool.

“It was clear to see that they were uncomfortable with the heat so we moved a large air conditioner into their room.”

“Now they take it in turns to climb up on to it and just chill out,” zoo employee Hu Sheng told the press.

Panda bears are considered to be an endangered species.

Several organizations are trying to breed them in captivity, hoping that one day the panda bears born in zoos and other similar shelters will be released in the wild.
