Panda Software Unveils New Free Panda ActiveScan Tool

Panda ActiveScan is a free online antivirus solution. Panda Software has announced that the online scanning tool has been upgraded and now includes low-level; scanning to detect and remove rootkits. Additionally, Panda ActiveScan delivers protection against viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware.

"The new Panda ActiveScan includes Panda Software's Genetic Heuristic Engine, a heuristic detection technology combining digital genetic signature correlation and deep code inspection in an algorithm that analyzes code and the DNA characteristics of malware. Thanks to this, Panda Activescan can detect previously unknown threats. The Genetic Heuristic Engine is part of TruPrevent™ Technologies, the proactive technologies developed by Panda Software to detect unknown malware," revealed Panda in a press release.

The new version of Panda ActiveScan offers support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and is compatible with a wide range of security solutions installed locally on the users' systems, providing additional scanning features and security status.
