Panda Security has announced the official launch of three of its newest products in the 2009 suit - Panda Antivirus Pro 2009, Panda Internet Security 2009 and Panda Global Protection 2009. The three products are based on the same technology, Collective Intelligence, which enables experts to continuously elaborate new ways to detect and remove threats. The innovation comes from the fact that the database used to store signature files is "in the cloud", or, in other words, on the Internet. This helps users save necessary resources and reduce bandwidth consumption.

"Every Panda user is a sensor for new malware, sending statistical data about malware prevalence back to the cloud. This new approach reduces bandwidth consumption on customers’ PCs and provides faster and more comprehensive up-to-date protection. This innovative model not only allows detecting much more malware than the manual systems that some laboratories use, but is also able to detect even new threats not yet recognized. Combining Collective Intelligence and TruPrevent technologies Panda is capable to detect the most sophisticated malware," says the team at Panda Security.

The TruPrevent technology is based on the TruPrevent 2.0 engine, which has the purpose to intercept and block any new threat. Since the engine has been updated, it does a great job in identifying which the real threats are and which messages are false positive, as legitimate messages that have been strayed in the "spam" recipient are called.

The first of the new products, Panda Antivirus Pro 2009, protects against viruses, spyware, identity theft and, thanks to the built-in firewall, against hacking attacks. Its price goes from € 39.95 (approximately $58) for one PC to € 49.95 for three PCs. Besides the abovementioned features, Panda Internet Security 2009 comes with parental control over children's online activity, so it is mostly a product especially designed for families. The price varies from € 49.95 for one machine to € 69.95 for three. The last of the products, the Panda Global Protection 2009, includes as a bonus a system that prevents any data loss and enables users with the possibility to secure their online transactions. This product is also the most expensive in the suite, being worth € 69.95 for one computer or € 89.95 for three.

The Panda Security suit was tested in the Softpedia Labs and no malware was found. The three products can be safely downloaded here [1, 2, 3].
