Today, Panasonic has released a new firmware version targeted at its LUMIX ZS35, TZ56, and TZ55 digital cameras, namely build 1.1, which improves the English and Canadian-French indications in the menu.

Therefore, if you have been encountering problems with your LUMIX camera regarding these languages, do take into account a firmware update.

To do so, first verify the currently installed version by going to Menu → Setup → Version Disp. and make sure it isn’t either newer or matching the present release.

If checked, get and extract the appropriate downloadable archive for your camera model, initialize a compatible SD card using the LUMIX unit, and copy the .bin file onto the root folder of the newly-prepared memory card.

Since the upgrade process will delete all files and reset the camera to its default settings, it would be best if you backed up all important data and configurations from the device. Also, make sure you use a fully charged battery to perform the update.

Now, insert the SD card, turn on the camera, and press the “Playback” button while pushing the zoom to wide side in order to display the “Firmware Update” message. Simply choose “Yes,” wait for the firmware to be applied, and remove the memory card upon completion.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your digital camera, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and apply the latest firmware on your device.
