Back at IFA 2014 Panasonic introduced a family of 5-inch rugged tablets for professionals working in dangerous environments, which run either Android or Windows 8.1.

But if 5-inch is too small a screen for you and you need the convenience of a bigger display, Panasonic will cater to your needs too with the new Toughpad FZ-B2.

As Android HD Blog reports, this is a 7-inch tablet and coming from Panasonic. You can’t expect anything but a rugged product coming with IP67 certification (will sustain falls from up to 1.5m / 4.9 ft).

The tablet’s measurements are 202.7 x 132 x 18mm / 7.9 x 5.19 x 0.7 inches and weight a total of 580 g / 1.27 lbs.

The slate comes with an IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and relies on an Intel Celeron N2930 processor clocked at 1.83GHz fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD).

The tablet also has a 5MP frontal camera, USB 3.0, 802.11n Wi-Fi dual band module (2.4 / 5GHz) and Bluetooth 4.0. The system runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box which is certainly a plus.

As usual with Panasonic’s rugged offerings, the battery inside is removable and can be swapped with another one.

The FZ-B2 is expected to arrive in retail this November, but we don’t have a pricing for it just yet.
