Since the IFA show in Berlin is almost ready to start, there are quite a lot of consumer electronics manufacturers that are launching new products just in time to showcase them on the exhibition floor. And that's exactly the case with Panasonic, which has come up with quite an interesting product line-up, including here the extremely impressive TH-103PZ800, a Viera plasma display that measures no less than 103 inches (2.62 meters) in diagonal.

Of course, as expected, such a huge display (241.4 cm x 174.8 cm x 87.1cm) requires some pretty peculiar installation conditions, especially since it's extremely heavy. Thus, at 343 kilos, you'll need a heck of a good floor in order to properly set up this monster, and probably a solid crane too, so as to safely hoist it up to your apartment's window.

However, beside the sheer size and weight, the display from Panasonic also promises a very impressive level of image quality. The TH-103PZ800 delivers full HD, 1920x1080 pixel resolution, a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, as well as advanced image processing technologies (as for example, the "HD Optimizer", equipped with noise-sensitive detection of the scene, television broadcasting, MPEG noise reduction).

The Viera PDP also packs several HDMI interfaces (4x 1080/24p) with Deep Color and x.v.Color, as well as numerous other inputs and outputs (which make it act as some sort of huge media hub). Furthermore, it incorporates tuners for both cable and aerial broadcasting.

As mentioned right from the start, Panasonic's new PDP is by no means an affordable product, since it will retail (starting from the end of August) for an estimate price of 50,000 US dollars, which, despite being a huge amount of money, is nevertheless a $20,000 less than the previous 103-inch model offered by the Japanese company.
