The micro four thirds camera won't be a holiday present

We've known about Panasonic's Lumix DMC-GH3 micro four thirds camera for months, but the company has been strangely silent about it.

We've discovered the reason, or at least the folks at Photorumors have.

The company, for some reason or other, won't be able to ship the product in time for Christmas.

In fact, the first deliveries will only begin on December 29, and they will only include the body, not the lenses or anything else, save for what the product box comprises by default.

The price has yet to be specified, but previous reports suggested $2,000 / 1525-2,000 Euro. We can only hope that there won't be any shortage to make it even higher.

Panasonic hopes to manufacture 8000 cameras each month. We will see if its plans come to fruition.
