Bad news for Europeans expecting the Panasonic ELUGA Power to go live towards the end of April as the smartphone has just been delayed.

UK-based retailer Clove reports they have just been informed that they can now expect the ELUGA Power to arrive in late June or early July.

No explanation has been given, though the retailer notes that Panasonic simply told them that the release date of the smartphone has been pushed back to the beginning of Q3.

Panasonic ELUGA Power was announced back in February at the Mobile World Congress 2012, as a better alternative to the ELUGA. In fact this is an improved version of Panasonic ELUGA, which is now available for purchase.

However, unlike the ELUGA which is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform and packs a 1 GHz dual-core processor, the upcoming ELUGA Power has been confirmed to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

In addition, the ELUGA Power is equipped with a more powerful 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8270 Snapdragon processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 225 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

It is also worth mentioning that the enhanced version of ELUGA comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), while the standard version does not have one.

Moreover, ELUGA Power boasts a much larger 5.-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with HD (720 x1280 pixels) resolution, whereas the ELUGA sports a 4.3-inch qHD OLED touchscreen.

The smartphone also has an impressive 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording. IP57 protection rating has been included as well.

Customers who are still willing to wait for the Panasonic ELUGA Power to go on sale can now pre-order the smartphone via Clove UK. Obviously, they won’t be charged for reserving the handset, instead they will be contacted closer to launch in order to confirm the order.
