Panasonic has just released a new firmware version for their DMC-SZ5 compact digital camera. Update number 1.1 addresses an issue on PC connection with Workgroup environment and Wi-Fi connection to PC.

Now, linking to your computer via a wireless network means simply imputing the name of the PC or NetBIOS name, in case you use a Mac.

The update procedure is easy and accessible for everyone. All you need is a formatted SD Card and a fully charged battery.

To begin with, download the firmware from the link below and, once that completes, extract the content of the archive. The SZ5_V11.bin file obtained by doing so must be copied on the card.

The next step is to put the card in the camera and look in the menu. Under the “Setup” section, you will find the current version of the camera and the update button.

Have patience until everything is complete and the camera restarts. After that happens, simply format the card and you are done.

Below is the link to the firmware. Download, install and stay “updated one minute ago.”
