Device manufacturers are visibly pushing the adoption of tablet/laptop hybrids these days and Panasonic doesn’t want to be left behind.

So, at a recent conference held in Japan, the PC maker took the opportunity to pull the veil off its newest CF-MX3 laptop convertible, Baomoi reports.

The machine comes with a 12.5-inch LCD screen featuring a capable resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The base model of the CF-MX3 bundles a 2.6GHz Core i5-4200 CPU complete with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. Customers going for this version will also be getting Windows 8.1 out of the box as well.

However, for those looking for something more powerful there’s also the 3.0GHz Core i7-4500U CPU option that arrives with the Pro version of Microsoft’s OS.

Furthermore, the CF-MX3 comes equipped with two USB 3.0, HDMI out, VGA, an SD card reader and a removable battery which can pump 14-15 hours of life juice. Oddly enough, Panasonic has slipped in a DVD drive too, for those who feel they need that.

Overall, the convertible weighs 2.65 pounds / 1.2 kg, which is pretty decent, but price availability is unknown at the moment. We do know the CF-MX3 will become available in Japan, February 14.
