After Morrissey's protests, another celebrity takes the stand against Canada's slaughter of thousands of seals.
Native Canadian actress Pamela Anderson is conducting a petition drive and wishes to present the signatures to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
In addition, Anderson has sent a letter to Harper, pleading to resolve this ecological issue before it is too late.
She is concerned with the country's image throughout the world after Canada's indifferent reaction towards repeated protests.

"I'm writing you today not so much about the horrific animal cruelty involved, but about the impact of the government's indifference to such violence on Canada's image around the world," writes Anderson. "As a proud Canadian who frequently travels abroad, I am alarmed that people are starting to see us as a country more beholden to a pack of greedy hunters and the seal skin fashion whims of a few countries than attentive to the massive international outcry against such a barbaric activity."

"One of the biggest problems facing the U.S. government is appearing arrogant and oblivious to world opinion, and I'd hate to see that happen to Canada, too."

Anderson whishes that she and Harper could meet during her future visit to Canada for the Juno Awards.
The source that provided Anderson's letter told The Scoop: "The Prime Minister has refused to meet with Paul McCartney and Brigitte Bardot. I wonder how he'll respond to a Canadian icon."
