Pamela Anderson has announced she is going to be boycotting the Kentucky Derby horserace this year because she thinks it's a cruel spectacle. The blonde diva is also urging other celebrities to stay away too.
The outspoken, animal-loving actress and model has joined activists at People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) in a new campaign to end the famous US horse race's celebrity connections.
"It makes me want to avoid Kentucky altogether, which is sad because there are so many great people there. I don't want to support cruelty to animals, whether it's forcing horses to race for our amusement or scalding chickens alive for our plate," Pamela reported.
Anderson's decision to attack the Kentucky Derby is a blow for organizers because she has become a regular at the sporting event in recent years, but she claims she wasn't then aware of the cruelty involved.
Last month, Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher refused Pamela's request to remove a bust of KFC's founder, Colonel Harland Sanders, from the state capitol, deeming it a misguided publicity stunt. Therefore the sex bomb is furious with both the Governor and the food company, as she's saying: "I'm not shocked that KFC is sponsoring the Derby. It's greedy companies using poor animals all the way around...We have to be more evolved than this."
