Dreamscape Networks Ltd denies the ad is in any way offensive

Pamela Anderson can get no love in the UK. A new ad she shot for Dreamscape Networks Ltd has just been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) following several complaints that it was degrading and terribly offensive to women.

The ad is still available on YouTube, so you can see it at the link. *Please note though that discretion is recommended.

It shows Pamela during a business meeting, while one of her male colleagues, Adam, looks at her and starts to fantasize about her and her gorgeous female assistant.

There’s no denying the commercial is sensual, but ASA believes that it’s also objectifying, degrading, and offensive, so it won’t run on UK television anymore.

In a statement for the Daily Mail, the company says ASA is mistaking humor for offensive content. Sure.

“We did not believe the ad objectified women, as it was clear the exaggerated fantasy sequence was limited to Adam's imagination. It was his musings and easy distraction which were meant to be over-the-top and comical – especially in the context of a business meeting and because they were suddenly interrupted. It was a tongue-in-cheek approach,” the statement says.
