Recently, mobile games publisher Astraware announced the availability of a new appealing game for handsets running under Palm's webOS operating system, the Astraware Board Games.

According to the company, the new Astraware Board Games is the latest title the company added to its offering on the Palm App Catalog, and is aimed at Palm Pre and Pre Plus users, who already expressed their interest in the game.

Basically, the new Astraware Board Games comes as a collection of 8 classic board games that were developed for players that are not experts in the field.

According to the company, these 8 classic, family-friendly board games can be enjoyed by every one.

Some of the main features of the title include:

- 8 classic boardgames in one easy-to-use pack
- Perfect for casual players and non-experts
- Touch and slide your piece to move it!
- Evokes the look of classic games played on wooden boards

Included into the Astraware Board Games are Chess, Backgammon, Ludo, Checkers, Reversi, Nine Men's Morris, Snakes and Ladders, and Tic Tac Toe.

“It’s perfect for families to enjoy together using the ‘Hotseat’ Multiplayer mode and many of the games include customizable rules and a range of difficulty levels,” the company announced.

The Astraware Board Games can be downloaded from the Palm App Catalog straight on Palm Pre devices, but work only on handsets that have the webOS 1.4.5 update installed.

The game features a price tag of $2.99, and comes with increased ease of use, as one would only have to open the pack from the Board Games icon and choose the game to play.

“Astraware Board Games is perfect for families to enjoy together. Many of the games include customizable rules and a range of difficulty levels, but designed with casual players and non-experts in mind,” the company states.

Additional info on the game can be found on the company's website here, or in the Palm App Catalog.
