Following the miniaturization trend, Albatron Technology presents the first Mini-ITX motherboard based on AMD?s powerful AM2 socket technology. Although coming in a small-size factor, the Mini-ITX motherboard integrates all the latest AM2 technologies, making it a top choice as the most powerful Mini-ITX board on the market.

The KI690-AM2 motherboard not only supports DDR II memory modules, but also integrates Dual Channel memory technology, doubling the memory bandwidth. Users can connect up to 2GB of SO-DIMM RAM modules in two slots, which is quite a lot for a small motherboard.

Albatron's Mini-ITX board is no larger than the outstretched palm of your hand, namely only 17x17cm, and is designed to fit in small compartments such as for Car PCs, Industrial PCs, POS systems, DIY systems or for a small inconspicuous living room HTPCs (Home Theatre PC).

As far as video capabilities are concerned, the KI690-AM2ATI integrates AMD/ATI's RS690 and SB600 chipsets, making for the most powerful integrated graphics engine on the market. The graphics engine is also compatible with the Windows Vista OS, the first operating system to really use graphics subsystems.

The minimalist board is capable of full multimedia connectivity and audio facilities. One Gigabit LAN port allows for Internet a network connectivity, while the board may be hooked up directly to High Definition devices with the HDMI connector. In this respect, the board is specifically bundled with HDTV composite, DSub and DVI connectors.

I/O options include two IEEE 1394 ports and up to eight USB 2.0 ports. In addition, the board is fully equipped for rich, high quality audio featuring 7.1 HD Audio Effects (8 channels). Users may be able to use SPDIF, devices as well. Moreover, there are 4 SATA II connectors with RAID 0, 1 & 0+1 ensuring speedy 3 Gbit/s disk performance. For older storing devices, users get only one IDE connector supporting ATA hard disks and CD drives.
