MobiHand, Inc. and MotionApps announced on Wednesday the release of the first only store that would offer a wide range of Palm OS apps that users are enabled to employ on the newly launched Palm pre through the MotionApps Classic Palm OS emulator, namely the MobiHand Classic App Store. The fresh software portal comes with daily, weekly and monthly special offers and also provides exclusive deals on a large number of games, productivity entertainment and other types of applications.

The MotionApps Classic Palm OS emulator for the Palm Pre's webOS platform is available for purchase at the App Catalog. As many of you might already know, the software solution is meant to unite the new webOS with the older Palm OS, while also enhancing the hardware capabilities of the Pre. According to the company, it will enable the Palm OS applications to run twice as fast on the Pre, while users will be able to enjoy two worlds at the same time.

Steve Howard, president and CEO of MobiHand, Inc., stated that “Thanks to the MotionApps Classic Palm OS emulator, new Pre owners will be able to run many of the leisure and business apps they love such as Aces Texas Hold’em, Bejeweled, BlackJack Deluxe, Agendus, and SplashID immediately - which will help them comfortably make the transition to this incredible new platform.”

Voja Lalich, CEO of MotionApps, said that “MobiHand, with their large catalog of popular Palm OS apps covering a wide range of categories and needs, is a great resource for Palm Pre owners and one as committed as we are to making the lives of smartphone users happier and easier.”

MotionApps' CEO also added that the company planned the near launch of a user-driven forum called Classic Well, where people would be able to share their experiences with the Classic emulator. Moreover, the company plans to promote apps that will receive the Classic Certified status, and which will be included in the Classic App Store.

The number of Palm OS apps that work with the Classic and are offered by MobiHand is rising, announced the leading provider of mobile content and application stores, adding that new apps were tested and featured in the Classic Store each day. Moreover, there will be a variety of special offers for users, given the fact that the company “has cultivated relationships with developers in the Palm OS community over many years.”
