The handset expected to appeal to the modern lady

Mobile-phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just started airing a new commercial for one of its latest smartphones, the Palm Pre Plus. The handset in itself seems to be appealing enough to make one love it at a first glance, but it seems that Verizon wants more people to enjoy it, so the ads are targeting various market segments, based on the features the Pre Plus packs inside.

Unlike the marketing campaign Palm Pre has seen on Sprint's network, the new campaign seems more vivid, though it lacks the robot flavor of the ads aired for the Motorola DROID. Even so, the ads Verizon is delivering for the Pre Plus seem to be pretty interesting too, and, if one won't be tempted to purchase the device after seeing a few of them, then the simple viewing of the ads will still count for something.

The main idea behind Verizon's marketing campaign for the Palm Pre Plus seems to be a simple one, namely that the device is an accessory for any modern lady, as Engadget notes. In other words, if not all of its customers are attracted by the capabilities of the Pre Plus, at least its women customers should be interested in the features and functionality the device can deliver.

Undoubtedly, the Motorola DROID was put in a quite different light, and some of you might already remember that ad in which Big Red says it clearly, “The DROID is not a princess.” Regardless of your gender or age, you should still take a look at the videos bellow to see a little of what the wireless carrier has to say about the Palm Pre Plus.

In related news, we learn that Verizon and AT&T have brought the war over their 3G networks to a new phase. AT&T aired some clips attacking Big Red's network last week, and now Verizon has answered back with its own ads, which, one should agree, seem pretty amusing. Phone arena put together two of Verizon's ads and you can take a look at them here.
