In Vietnam

Palm Pre has been available on the United States market for more than three weeks now, and the handset seems to attract users on its side, as the latest analyst reports have showed, yet the Sunnyvale mobile phone maker seems to be mum on the GSM version of the device. The US variant, as many of you might already know, is CDMA; however, mobile phone users in Europe, for example, would rather go for the GSM model, the one that fits the networks on the old continent.

Palm promised such a version for the ongoing year, but that happened at the beginning of the year, and the company hasn't said anything more about it since then. We all know that the GSM Pre will come to the market, we even know that O2 is set to launch it in Germany, yet we still have to learn when the release will take place, and also the price tag that the handset should come with in Europe. Hopefully, Palm will not play the silence game with this model too, the same as it did with the CDMA version that was launched on Sprint's airwaves in the US.

Until some more details on the availability and pricing of the GSM variant of Palm's Pre surface, we should take a look at the video below, which shows the model wandering in the wild in Vietnam. Some people are luckier than others, it seems, yet we can still enjoy the video and the photos with the GSM model of Pre, which is more than nothing.

Just as it happened with the Pre variant available in the US, this one looks as great as you would expect. There are no details on what other changes it might bear when it will arrive, though the functionality available with the units on the market should already be there almost entirely. Hopefully, it won't be too long before we can see the GSM Palm Pre in stores in Europe, so stay tuned to learn more details on it as soon as they become available. More photos with the handset can be found here.
