Here's the first guy in line to have the Pre

Wireless carrier Sprint will start selling the highly anticipated Palm Pre as soon as this Saturday, June 6, and, though there are four days until the official launch, we learn that one enthusiast already camped in front of a Sprint store, in an attempt not only to make sure that he would receive his Pre, but also that he would be the first person to do so.

According to some of the latest news on the Web, Sprint fears that it might see a shortage of Pre units at launch, and this guy, who hasn't provided a name, is reported to have stated the following: “I’ve been so disappointed with Sprint since my parents got me a plan three years ago. I hear there is only going to be 4 phones at each spot, and I’m getting mine!”

For the time being it seems that he is the only one to line up in front of a Sprint store to make sure he grabs Palm's first webOS-powered handset, though more might join him before the week comes to an end and the phone actually goes on sale.

As many of you might remember, Sprint stated about two weeks ago that it chose not to advertise the Palm Pre too much due to expected low stock at launch, yet it seems that the hype around the phone hasn't diminished that much since Palm first announced it back in January at CES 2009. Moreover, as the launch date approaches, more and more users seem to have caught the same “Pre fever,” if it can be called this way.

Hopefully, this guy as well as those enthusiasts who are desperately waiting to grab the high-end device as soon as it becomes available will see their wish come true. And we might add that the Pre also has to fulfill Palm's wish, namely that it be successful enough to help the company get back on its feet.
