As promised at the beginning of this month, Canadian mobile phone carrier Bell made the highly anticipated Palm Pre smartphone available for purchase in the country a few days ago. Canadian mobile phone users willing to go for the new device will be able to find it available at Bell's stores and its partners all around the country, the company announced.

As most of you might already know, the Palm Pre comes to the Canadian market with a touchscreen display and with a sliding QWERTY keypad, as well as with a brand-new operating system, the Palm webOS. One of the greatest phones launched on the market this year, the Palm Pre comes towards users in Canada with powerful hardware specifications, as well as with a wide range of applications and social networking tools.

Wade Oosterman, president of Bell Mobility and chief brand officer for Bell, commented: “Bell is only the second carrier in the world to offer the award-winning Palm Pre, which is getting rave reviews for its uniquely attractive design and revolutionary Palm webOS mobile platform. We’ve seen exceptionally strong advance interest in Palm Pre and have worked closely with Palm to ensure we have sufficient stock on hand to satisfy demand.”

Some of the greatest features that the Palm Pre comes with include powerful multi-tasking capabilities, and support for natural finger gestures. In addition, the phone also comes with an ergonomic design, a sliding physical keyboard, and Palm Synergy, a feature that delivers all the information the users need in a logical view.

Mobile phone users in Canada who would like to purchase the new Palm Pre will find it available through Bell stores, Best Buy, Future Shop and other partners at a price tag of $199.95 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the operator. The handset is also available without a contract, for $599.95 with a minimum 500MB plan, the carrier added.
