HP and palm seem set to push the new Palm Pre 2 smartphone into the wild as soon as possible, and they are also set to make the device available for pre-order pretty soon. As soon as November 8th, it appears, at least this is what the company stated recently on its HP for Students – US Facebook page.

“Check out the new Palm Pre Plus 2, pre-orders begin 11/8,” the message on the company's Facebook page stated, though it was changed soon after with “Palm Pre 2 coming soon.” (via PreCentral)

Along with announcing the near availability of the new mobile phone, the company also published a video of the device, so that we can have a better look at what it is getting ready to make available for us in the near future.

What was not specified, however, is whether this Pre Plus 2 handset would be a GSM or a CDMA device.

However, the company did announce previously that it plans on making the phone available for purchase unlocked via its website, and chances are that it was referring to the GSM version.

As for the CDMA flavor, it should make an appearance at Verizon Wireless in the near future, with no specific info available on the release date.

With pre-orders for the Palm Pre 2 set to kick off on Monday, we might see the phone hitting shelves in the near future, most probably at Verizon too.

For those who might have missed previous reports on the Palm Pre 2, we should note that the GSM version comes with support only for T-Mobile's 3G network.

Palm Pre 2 is the first handset Palm has unveiled to the world after it was bought by HP, and also the first device to run under the new webOS 2.0 operating system.

Compared to the previous version, the new phone comes with upgraded hardware, including a faster processor, which means that it should offer better performance levels than the predecessor.
