Palm Centro's release has followed all the traditional patterns of a mobile phone's market entrance. After the leaked images came some official ones, then rumors on the release date and, in the end, even a special website to announce it. The final step, Pal's official announcement, has finally come.

The smartphone targets especially a younger audience that is currently struggling to develop a business career. Palm Centro is meant to allow them to take their work outside their office and constantly be capable of handling communication situations at top levels. At the same time, the device tries to bring entertainment solutions and help the users express their personality.

Palm Centro is capable of working with Sprint's most important services, such as Sprint TV, On Demand, Sprint Picture Mail, Sprint Mobile eMail and Sprint IM. The mobile phone features several tools that will surely prove to be useful for the user, in time. This includes a QWERTY keypad and a 1.3 megapixel camera, all in a slim and compact case.

"Palm Centro has the power of a broadband smartphone at the price of a standard 12-key phone", said Ed Colligan, president and chief executive officer of Palm. "People looking to have all their contacts and calendar at the touch of a button, plus YouTube streaming videos and the Internet can now get it in a small, cool design with the trademark Palm ease of use. If you're thinking about stepping up to a smartphone, the Palm Centro should be your choice", he further added.

The release of this new smartphone has done Palm a great deal of good. Aside from the large number of favorable comments and high appreciation that it has received, the company's stock jumped over 6 percent in only one day.

Palm Centro will be available from now on at Sprint, for the price of USD 100 after a USD 100 mail-in rebate, with a minimum USD 25 data plan and a two year contract.
