Available for Windows 32-bit computers

We reported earlier that Palm recently announced that the early access program for developers willing to create applications for the new webOS platform shipping with the company's Palm Pre had been extended and that new developers had been invited to the community. Now, only a few days later, the Mojo SDK has already been leaked into the wild.

Things were somehow expected to go this way, and it was only a matter of time before the SDK was made available to the world. As it seems, someone decided to go live with the Mojo SDK, so that more people would have access to it, at least more than the number forecast by Palm. It will be interesting to see when Palm and Sprint will make a move in this direction and remove the download link from the web, as Pre Thinking puts it, yet for now it seems that those interested in it can still have it.

As reported before, Palm decided on June 26 that it was high time to double the number of developers that had access to the Mojo SDK, and sent invitations to a series of people, offering them the possibility to join the program. As one of the developers thought it would be nice for others to enjoy the SDK as well, those using Microsoft's Windows operating system on 32-bit can download and tap into the development kit.

We haven't tested the SDK, yet Pre Thinking says it is genuine, and also shows a series of screenshots with it running on a Windows-powered computer. Considering the number of hacks the webOS has been subject to lately, we should hear about more actions in this direction now that the SDK is available, especially given the hype both the Palm Pre and its platform have seen before the launch. At the same time, the number of apps available for the device should also rise fast in the near future, so stay tuned to learn more details as they become available.
