Now that she's finally dealing with her problem (after such a long time spent denying that she had one), people won't let Lindsay Lohan alone for the world. If it's not her mother the one who profits from her recent visit to the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles, then there are the tabloids that would do it gladly.
After the actress announced that she would be trying to get her life back on track by going to the rehabilitation clinic, the media was immediately all over the story. True, the fact that her very mother, Dina Lohan, participated in all the madness by giving interviews in which she talked about the rehab stint as if it were a college scholarship, didn't help that much.
Then, there are the tabloids that are willing to go to all lengths (or, better, lows) to get the scoop on what made Lindsay take the 'proactive' decision of checking in rehab: was it the fact that James Franco snubbed her that pushed her over the edge or was it just uncontrolled boozing that finally made her realize that she needed professional help?
It turns out that there's another variant, too, and 'Star' magazine has it (again, from a reliable source). According to the mag, Lindsay was given painkillers after the appendectomy and she was careless enough as to mix them with alcohol. '[Lindsay] left the hospital [after her appendectomy] with several painkillers on her; that was her downfall - she was using the painkillers and continuing to go out and drink. She woke up each morning exhausted and feeling sicker than ever.', the spy tells the mag.
'Lindsay's family and other people she works with sat down with her [Tuesday] night and convinced her she had to go into rehab to save herself professionally and personally. She couldn't afford to have another letter come out about how she was being unprofessional and missing work on the set.', the source added, referring to her contract for the 'I Know Who Killed Me' movie, on which she was working at the time.
Whichever of these stories might be true is not really that relevant at this precise moment. Speaking on the phone with one journalist, Lindsay confirmed she was doing fine and taking things one step at a time. Unfortunately, she would not have finished the program in time for her to attend Sundance Film Festival, where she was one of the guests of honor.
