14 DAY TRIAL // The 9th season of “Criminal Minds” will include a very special treat for fans on its 200th episode: Paget Brewster, who played Emily Prentiss until the end of season 7, will return for just one episode.
She was last seen on the show in May 2012, and fans must be thrilled she’s coming back, if only for a little while.
CBS has confirmed the news, promising a very “special show” with the milestone, AceShowbiz reports.
“[Episode] 200 is flashback-heavy, but with things fans who've watched all 199 will be happy with. Our goal is to reward everyone who's been with us for 200 episodes,” executive producer Erica Messer says.
She adds that such a special present for fans could not even be possible without Brewster’s involvement.
“The 200th episode offers glimpses into the past that shed light on what happened to JJ (A.J. Cook) during her year away from the BAU and prove valuable in the team's efforts to solve a present day case. She was working at the State Department with new BAU section chief Matt Cruz, who will be portrayed by Esai Morales,” the aforementioned celebrity e-zine writes.
