It's already been confirmed that Asus will unveil the Padfone 2 device on October 16. The handset makers already sent invites to the media and stated it would stream the event from Milan, Italy.
We also know quite a lot of the phone's specs sheet, but there wasn't any picture of the device available until recently.
The folks over at EVLeaks did it again. Several press photos showing the Padfone 2 have been published online and indicates the device looks very much the same as the original model, though a bit larger.
Unlike Padfone that sports a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, the sequel comes with a slightly larger 4.7-inch Super IPS+ LCD display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution.
In addition, Asus Padfone 2 will be equipped with a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor built on the Krait architecture.
It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone packs an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit, along with no less than 2GB of RAM, which makes it even more powerful than the original model that features only 1GB of RAM.
On the back, the Padfone 2 boasts an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper that features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There's also a secondary 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
Although there is no detail on the amount of storage yet, it has been confirmed that the Padfone 2 will feature microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
When it comes to connectivity, the smartphone offers the latest technologies in the field, such as LTE, DC-HSPA+, Wi-Fi (dual band), NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth 4.0 and many more.
Rumor has it that Padfone 2 will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform out of the box, but Asus will deliver a Jelly Bean update soon. The video below will give you an idea of what this device looks like.
